We don’t collect anything.

The short version

The app collects nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking of any kind. There is no third-party SDK inside it that phones home.

Everything you make in the app stays on your phone. Nothing you type is sent to us.

What stays on your device

Your shopping list, the people you cook for and what each of them doesn’t eat, and your settings — language, metric or imperial, light or dark — are written into the app’s own folder on your device. Two native pieces (the link between the shopping list and Apple Reminders, and the cook timers) keep a small note in the storage iOS reserves for the app.

None of it is sent to us, and nobody but you can read it. The one place it can travel to is your own backup: iOS saves an app’s files along with the rest of the phone, which is why restoring a phone brings your shopping list back with it. That copy is yours, sitting in your iCloud or on your computer under Apple’s terms, and we cannot see it.

Deleting the app deletes all of it from the phone. There is no copy on our side to ask us to remove.

What the app fetches

So that the recipes are there with no signal, the app downloads the whole cookbook from hungryvalente.com/api/vk/sync and the pictures from the same site. Those are ordinary HTTPS requests with nothing attached — no account, no identifier, no record of which recipe you opened.

Like every web server, ours writes an access log: the IP address a request came from, the time, and the browser or app that made it. That is how servers work, and it is what has to be readable when something breaks. It is not used to build a profile of anybody and it is not joined to anything else.

Timers and Reminders

Cook timers are scheduled by iOS on your phone. Nothing about them leaves it.

You can send the shopping list to Apple Reminders, and only when you tap to do it. Once it is there the list belongs to Reminders — on your device and in your iCloud, under Apple’s terms rather than ours. The app only touches the reminders it made itself.

The website

The site runs no analytics, no tag manager and no advertising scripts, and it sets no tracking cookies. Nothing on it follows you anywhere.

It does load its three typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser asks Google’s font servers for them and Google sees your IP address the way any server would. That is the only thing on the site served by somebody else.

Children

Nothing is collected from anybody, children included. Neither the site nor the app is aimed at children in particular, and no age is ever asked for.

Selling and sharing

No. There is nothing to sell. Nothing is sold, shared, rented or traded, and none of it is used for advertising or ad targeting.

If this changes

If any of this stops being true, this page changes with it and so does the date at the top. A change that meant the app started collecting something would be asked for in the app first.

Removing your data, and questions

To remove everything the app holds, delete the app from your phone. There is no copy anywhere else and nothing on our side to delete on your behalf. The shopping list can also be emptied inside the app, and the settings put back to how they started.
